Becoming a Member of HHUP
Thank you for your interest in becoming an HHUP member. Our goal is to build a neighbor to neighbor, volunteer organization that provides services, social connections, and referral assistance to older adults who want to remain in their homes and live full and independent lives as they age.
Some members of HHUP have lived in the area for decades; others have moved to UP more recently, sometimes to be closer to their adult children. We are different ages, have different backgrounds, and pursue different interests. We are at the same time unique and have a great deal in common.
We believe that we all do better when we are connected to one another. We hope that our members will participate in our activities but there is no obligation to participate at all.
HHUP membership is open to individuals who consider themselves seniors and who live in the Town of University Park. Because we are a UP Town Committee with a small annual budget and because we are an all-volunteer organization, we do not charge annual membership fees.
Becoming a member is simple. It entails completing and submitting an HHUP Membership Form and meeting with an HHUP committee member, who will answer questions and review HHUP benefits and guidelines. Interested residents may submit a membership form on-line or can request a paper copy by calling us at 301-892-6636 or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join us at our programs -- suggest new ideas -- help with making phone calls or stuffing envelopes -- ask for assistance when you need it.
